Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What is Niche?
Niche is a digital micro-commodity designed for the Onli ecosystem. It functions as a medium of exchange for paying for Onli services, with a fixed value of $1.00 per unit. Niche is built on Onli's patented technology that makes digital objects behave like physical objects—each unit is unique and truly owned by you, not just a ledger entry.
Is this an investment?
No. This is a commercial transaction to pre-purchase a medium of exchange at a discounted rate. The primary purpose is obtaining discounted service payment capacity. If you later sell your pre-purchased Niche ($0.55 cost) at the marketplace price ($1.00), you realize a $0.45 profit per unit. This profit is an early-buyer incentive that rewards commitment and reduces risk—not the primary purpose. This is similar to pre-buying fuel for an airplane at a discount—you're locking in today's price for future commercial use, with the added benefit of potential resale value.
What is a Forward Contract?
A Forward Contract is a private agreement where you lock in today's price for delivery on a future date. This is a common business practice used by airlines (fuel hedging), coffee roasters (bean contracts), and manufacturers (raw material procurement). You are purchasing Niche at $0.55/unit today for delivery in 30 days, when the standard price will be $1.00/unit.
Is this a security?
No. This transaction qualifies for the Forward Contract Exclusion under the Commodity Exchange Act. It meets all five criteria: (1) binding agreement, (2) physical delivery of a digital commodity, (3) delivery intent (not cash settlement), (4) ordinary course of business (commercial hedging), and (5) not traded or fungible (asset sale). The SEC and CFTC respect this exclusion, and no securities registration is required.
Pricing & Economics
How much does Niche cost?
Pre-Launch Price: $0.55 per unit
Standard Market Price: $1.00 per unit (fixed)
Administrative Fee: 3% of contract price (non-refundable)
Example: Purchasing 100,000 units
- Contract Price: 100,000 × $0.55 = $55,000
- Admin Fee (3%): $1,650
- Total: $56,650
This represents a 45% discount on future Onli services. If you later sell at $1.00, you realize $0.45 profit per unit—an early-buyer incentive, not the primary purpose.
Why is the pre-launch price lower?
You are taking on counterparty risk by paying today for delivery in 30 days, plus accepting a 120-day holding period. The discounted price compensates you for this risk and illiquidity. This is standard practice in forward contracts—earlier commitment = better pricing.
What can I use Niche for?
Niche is the payment mechanism for the Onli ecosystem:
- Onli Cloud Services: Developer subscriptions ($6,000/year = 6,000 Niche at standard price, but only $3,399 at pre-launch)
- Treasury Deployment: $50,000 = 50,000 Niche (save $14,250 with pre-launch pricing)
- Asset Issuance Fees: Creating and managing digital assets on Onli
- Computation & Transaction Fees: API calls, smart contracts, data storage
- Marketplace Transactions: Buying and selling digital assets
Can I sell Niche if I don't need it?
Yes, after the holding period. You have a liquidity option to sell Niche on the Niche Marketplace at the fixed $1.00 price. If you pre-purchased at $0.55, selling at $1.00 gives you $0.45 profit per unit—this is an early-buyer incentive that rewards your commitment and reduces risk. However, there is no guarantee of liquidity—your ability to sell depends on service-buyer demand (users who need Niche to pay for Onli services). The marketplace exists for buying Niche for services. The primary purpose is commercial use, with profit as a secondary incentive.
Timeline & Delivery
How long until I receive my Niche?
30 days from the date The Onli Corporation confirms receipt of your wire transfer payment. Delivery occurs when Niche units are credited to your authenticated Onli vault within the Onli-You application.
What is the holding period?
120 days after delivery. During this period, you cannot sell or transfer Niche on the Niche Marketplace. However, you can use Niche immediately for Onli services from the moment of delivery.
What is the total timeline?
- Day 0: Sign Purchase Agreement and wire payment
- Day 1-2: Payment confirmation
- Day 30: Niche delivered to your Onli vault
- Day 30-150: Holding period (use for services, no marketplace listing)
- Day 150+: Marketplace listing eligibility
Total: 150 days from contract date to marketplace eligibility.
Can I use Niche during the holding period?
Yes! The holding period restriction applies only to listing Niche for sale on the Niche Marketplace. You can use Niche for all commercial purposes immediately upon delivery:
- Pay for Onli Cloud services
- Pay computation and transaction fees
- Transfer to other authenticated Onli vaults for service transactions
- Use as collateral or escrow in Onli-based smart contracts
Technical & Security
What is Onli technology?
Onli is a patented technology that makes digital objects behave like physical objects. Unlike blockchain or ledger systems, Onli creates truly unique digital objects—there is only one of each. Niche is not a cryptocurrency, not a token, and not a ledger entry. It is a digital object you possess directly, similar to how you possess a physical coin.
How do I store Niche?
Niche is stored in an authenticated Onli vault accessed through the Onli-You application (available at https://www.onli.you/). Your vault is secured by your credentials, and you have complete control over your Niche.
What if I lose access to my vault?
This is a bearer instrument. Ownership is defined by possession in your authenticated Onli vault. Loss of access means permanent loss of all rights to your Niche. There is no "password recovery" or "account restoration" mechanism. You are solely responsible for securing your vault credentials. This is fundamentally different from traditional banking—treat your vault access like cash.
Is Niche on a blockchain?
No. Niche is built on Onli's patented technology, which is fundamentally different from blockchain. There are no miners, validators, gas fees, or public ledgers. Onli makes digital objects unique through a different architectural approach—each Niche unit is a distinct digital object, not an entry in a distributed ledger.
Legal & Compliance
What are the main risks?
- Liquidity Risk: No guaranteed resale market. You may not be able to sell Niche if you don't need it for services.
- Counterparty Risk: You rely on The Onli Corporation to deliver Niche in 30 days.
- Bearer Instrument Risk: Loss of vault access = permanent loss of Niche.
- Unregulated Market: The Niche Marketplace operates outside traditional financial regulation. No SEC, CFTC, or state securities regulator oversight.
- Technology Risk: Onli is a new technology. Software bugs, security vulnerabilities, or technical failures could affect delivery or usability.
What happens if The Onli Corporation fails to deliver?
Refund Policy: If The Onli Corporation fails to deliver Niche within 30 days of payment confirmation, you are entitled to a refund of 100% of the Contract Price. The 3% administrative fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.
Example: If you paid $41,200 total ($40,000 contract + $1,200 admin fee), you would receive a $40,000 refund. The $1,200 admin fee is not refunded.
Do I need to pay taxes on Niche?
You are solely responsible for determining and satisfying all tax obligations arising from this transaction. The Onli Corporation does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional regarding:
- Tax treatment of the forward contract purchase
- Tax implications of Niche delivery
- Tax consequences of using Niche for services
- Tax obligations from marketplace sales
Tax treatment may vary by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.

- Not be a resident of a restricted jurisdiction
- Not be subject to U.S. or international sanctions
- Certify the source of your funds

Reference: Your name + "Niche Purchase"
When does the 30-day delivery countdown start?
The delivery countdown begins when The Onli Corporation confirms receipt of your wire transfer, not when you initiate the wire. Wire transfers typically take 1-2 business days. You will receive a payment confirmation email once your wire is received.
Can I cancel my Purchase Agreement?
The Purchase Agreement becomes binding when you sign it and submit payment. However, if you change your mind before The Onli Corporation confirms receipt of your wire transfer, you may be able to cancel. Contact [email protected] immediately. Once payment is confirmed, the contract is binding and cancellation is not available.

- Terms of Sale: Complete legal terms (incorporated by reference)
- Payment Confirmation Email: Confirms wire receipt and delivery date
- Delivery Confirmation Email: Confirms Niche credited to your vault

Marketplace & Liquidity
What is the Niche Marketplace?
The Niche Marketplace is where users buy Niche to pay for Onli services—Treasury deployment ($50,000 in Niche), Developer subscriptions ($6,000/year in Niche), Asset issuance fees, and computation fees. The marketplace operates at the fixed $1.00 price. Users who pre-purchased Niche but no longer need it have a liquidity option to sell back at $1.00, but the marketplace's primary purpose is enabling service payments. It is not a securities exchange or resale platform and operates outside traditional financial regulation.
Is there guaranteed liquidity?
No. There is no guarantee of liquidity. The marketplace exists for users to buy Niche to pay for Onli services, not as a resale platform. If you pre-purchased Niche but don't need it, you have a liquidity option to sell at $1.00, but this depends on service-buyer demand (users who need Niche to pay for Onli services). If you are purchasing Niche for resale speculation rather than service use, do not proceed.
Why is the marketplace price fixed at $1.00?
Niche is designed as a medium of exchange, not a speculative asset. The fixed $1.00 price ensures stability for commercial transactions. This is not a cryptocurrency where price fluctuates based on speculation—Niche's value is tied to its utility in the Onli ecosystem.
What is the Buy-Back Guarantee?
The Onli Corporation maintains an Assurance Account funded by proceeds from Niche sales. This account provides a buy-back guarantee: The Onli Corporation guarantees that less than 3% of total Niche inventory will ever be traded without assurance backing. This creates a safety net for liquidity, though it does not guarantee immediate or complete liquidity for all holders.
